What should I do after receiving damaged furniture post-payment?
I purchased furniture from a shop. Before making the payment, the seller was polite and cooperative. However, after receiving full payment, his attitude changed completely. He delivered old, unfinished furniture with rusted metal parts, despite our clear request for new items. When we raised our concerns, he initially agreed to replace the furniture, but since then, he has stopped responding to our calls and has not taken any action.
Dear Client, As a customer who has duly paid the consideration which was agreed upon, you are entitled to receive the goods with standard quality which was promised to you in return for the money. The current situation amounts to unfair trade practice and deficiency in service under Section 2(47) as well as 2(11) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. File a complaint before the consumer dispute redressal forum addressing the same, seeking either replacement or refund as well as compensation for the mental agony suffered. I hope this answer helps. In case of future queries, please feel free to contact us. Thank you.
