How to claim unpaid maternity salary and get relieving letter?

My company hasn’t paid two months of maternity salary, citing financial issues. They also refused to give me a relieving letter after asking me to leave post-maternity, saying company operations have changed. I’ve been unemployed for two months due to this. What legal action can I take?

Your employer must pay maternity salary as per law. Not paying it or denying a relieving letter is illegal. You can file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner and also approach the Women’s Commission. You may also send a legal notice and file a case in the Labour Court if needed.
