What legal risk exists after withdrawing cyber complaint, amount frozen?

I made an online purchase through Instagram and paid via UPI. Due to delay and lack of tracking details, I filed a cyber complaint. Later, the seller claimed the product was dispatched and requested me to withdraw the complaint. I have withdrawn it online, but the bank amount is still frozen. The seller says her lawyer advised that the situation may worsen if I do not submit a written application at the police station. What legal risk, if any, do I face?

Once you have withdrawn the cyber complaint online, there is generally no criminal liability if your intention was bona fide. However, banks often require a written closure request or police NOC to unfreeze the amount. You should submit a written application to the concerned police station and follow up with the bank. No legal risk arises if facts were genuine. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
