Can I claim permanent faculty position after 13 years service?
I have been working at the university for the past 13 years as a guest faculty member. Given that I fulfill all the eligibility criteria and have been performing the duties of a regular faculty member, can I claim the right to obtain a permanent position? Additionally, my name has been included in the approvals for NAAC accreditation and AICTE approval.
Public Universities have public advertising wherein Appointments are made based upon Employment policies of University and respective government/ Central government
Often there are no Vacancies or one is overqualified, or competent / excellent as Guest Faculty and not Permanent ( wherein one has to undertake non-teaching and non-academic Roles also)
Permanent positions are also based upon Ranking system wherein there could be others who are more qualified. An application for Permanent position has to be made to University and Education sector
Sir, firstly you should review university’s employment policies and regulations regarding guest faculty and if it does not comply with the situation then you can draft a formal letter by requesting permanent position with the help of an expert lawyer who will guide you in understanding your rights.
