Can I claim property rights if I was cheated by someone?

I have a question regarding ancestral property. My father died without leaving a will. After that, his three children gifted the property to our mother, making her the sole owner. Later, my mother passed away and had nominated my brother in the society’s documents. Now, my brother sent me a document stating that he is the only owner because of that nomination. He took my signature on a paper saying that I have no right in the property and got it registered, thereby becoming the owner. He also holds a notarized paper regarding the property. I later found out that nomination does not mean ownership. Did he cheat me? Can I still claim my share in the property? This happened about a year ago. He didn’t give me any papers after taking my signature, and there was no witness from my side. Two years ago, he had sent me the document online

Sir nomination doesn’t make your brother the sole owner. Legal ownership transfers only through will, gift, or succession. You can send a legal notice to him, and after that, you can file a civil suit for partition and declaration to claim your rightful share. The notarized paper without consent or a witness has weak legal value. For further legal assistance, please contact us at our helpline number
